The Gospel Expressed Through Action
We believe the Gospel is best expressed through practical acts of love. Our outreach programs serve Pitt Meadows and the surrounding Fraser Valley communities with dignity, compassion, and the authentic care of Christ.
"Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."

Community Meals & Food Support
One of our most tangible expressions of ministry is gathering people around a shared table. Our community meal program reflects our conviction that everyone deserves warmth, welcome, and nourishment — both physical and spiritual.
We host regular community dinners that are open to everyone in Pitt Meadows — from congregation members and their guests to individuals and families who simply need a good meal and kind company. No questions asked, no requirements to meet.
In addition to regular meals, we coordinate food hamper distribution for families facing hardship, partnering with local food banks and social agencies to ensure practical support reaches those who need it most.
- Regular community dinners — open to the public
- Food hamper program for families in need
- Partnerships with Pitt Meadows / Maple Ridge food banks
- Seasonal holiday meals (Thanksgiving, Christmas)
Senior & Vulnerable Persons Care
Honouring and caring for the elderly and vulnerable is a direct expression of our faith. Word of the Lord Gospel Church runs a dedicated care and visitation program for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those facing social isolation in the Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge area.
Our trained volunteers provide regular companionship visits — to homes, care facilities, and hospitals — bringing warmth, conversation, prayer, and practical assistance to those who may otherwise feel forgotten.
- Regular home and care-home visitation
- Transportation assistance for medical appointments
- Companionship and social support for isolated individuals
- Inclusive community events adapted for mobility needs
- Prayer and pastoral support on request
Building Relationships That Last
More than programs and services, our community outreach is about building genuine, lasting relationships. We believe every person has inherent value and dignity — and our volunteers show up week after week simply to be present, to listen, and to care.
The connections formed through our outreach programs often grow into lifelong friendships and a broader sense of belonging — to one another and to the church community. Many regular program participants have become active church members, finding a spiritual home through our outreach.
"Carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ."
— Galatians 6:2 (NIV)Neighbourhood Partnerships
We know that lasting community change happens when organizations work together. Word of the Lord Gospel Church actively collaborates with local Pitt Meadows businesses, schools, social services, and non-profit organizations to multiply the impact of our outreach activities.
We participate in neighbourhood clean-ups, seasonal community events, and local initiatives that improve the quality of life for all residents. We view ourselves as one thread in the broader fabric of Pitt Meadows — committed to weaving a community marked by care, respect, and mutual support.
