Programs That Nurture & Equip

At Word of the Lord Gospel Church, our ministries are designed to meet people where they are — providing opportunities for worship, learning, prayer, and genuine human connection at every stage of life.

Sunday Worship Service

The centrepiece of our church life is the Sunday morning worship service — a weekly gathering where our congregation comes together to praise God, hear His Word preached, and encourage one another in faith.

Our services blend reverent, Spirit-filled worship with expository preaching that unpacks the riches of Scripture in a way that is accessible, relevant, and life-giving. We celebrate the Lord's Supper (communion) regularly as a congregation, remembering Christ's sacrifice and looking forward to His return.

  • Scripture-based, Gospel-centred preaching
  • Blended worship music — traditional hymns & contemporary praise
  • Warm welcome for visitors and newcomers
  • Children's Sunday School running concurrently
  • Fellowship time following the service

Bible Study & Discipleship

Our midweek Bible study is a cornerstone of our discipleship ministry. In a relaxed, small-group format, participants gather to dig deeper into God's Word — exploring its context, meaning, and practical application to everyday life in Pitt Meadows and beyond.

These sessions foster meaningful conversation, mutual encouragement, and spiritual accountability. Whether you are a long-time believer or just beginning to explore the Christian faith, you will find a welcoming space to ask questions and grow.

  • Verse-by-verse Scripture study through books of the Bible
  • Open Q&A discussion format
  • Personal devotional encouragement and resources
  • Prayer time for personal and community needs

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."

Prayer & Intercession Ministry

Prayer is the lifeblood of our church. Our Friday evening prayer meetings provide a dedicated space for corporate intercession — lifting up our congregation, our community, our nation, and the nations of the world before God.

We believe in the power of prayer to transform situations, soften hearts, and bring breakthrough where it is needed most. All are welcome to share prayer requests and to pray alongside fellow believers.

  • Corporate intercession for community and global needs
  • Personal prayer support for individual needs
  • Worship music and Scripture reading
  • Prayer chain for urgent requests (contact us to join)

Children & Youth Ministry

We are passionate about raising the next generation in the truth of God's Word. Our children's and youth ministries provide age-appropriate teaching, creative activities, and mentorship in a safe, nurturing environment.

Children's Sunday School runs concurrently with the Sunday morning worship service, offering engaging Bible lessons, crafts, and activities designed to build a lifelong love for Scripture in young hearts.

Our youth programs create spaces where teenagers can explore faith authentically, build healthy relationships, develop leadership skills, and find their identity and purpose in Christ.

  • Sunday School for children (ages 4–12)
  • Youth fellowship and mentorship programs
  • Seasonal events, camps, and retreats
  • Volunteer screening and child-safe policies

Fellowship & Hospitality

We believe the table is one of the most powerful places for community building. Our fellowship ministry hosts regular potluck dinners, shared meals, newcomer welcome events, and seasonal celebrations throughout the year.

These gatherings go beyond food — they are intentional opportunities to form friendships, welcome new faces, share life stories, and experience the joy of belonging to a family that cares deeply about one another.

  • Monthly potluck dinners open to all
  • Newcomer welcome events throughout the year
  • Seasonal celebrations — Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas
  • Summer outdoor picnics and community BBQs

Pastoral Care & Visitation

Life brings seasons of joy and seasons of deep difficulty. Our pastoral care team is committed to walking alongside every member of our congregation through all of life's moments — with compassion, prayer, and practical support.

We provide personal spiritual guidance, hospital and home visitation, support through life milestones (weddings, births, memorials), and crisis counselling referrals through trusted Christian care providers.

  • Hospital and home visitation for the sick and elderly
  • Personal pastoral counselling and spiritual direction
  • Support through grief, loss, and life transitions
  • Wedding and memorial service officiating
  • Crisis support and community resource referrals
